Homeowners Insurance Coverage’s

Dwelling: Also known as coverage A on your home insurance policy, this is generally the amount your home insurance company will pay to replace your home in the event of a covered loss.  It’s very important to keep your dwelling coverage updated to make sure this amount is enough to replace your home in the event of a total loss, as California home construction costs fluctuate over time, especially in high growth areas such as Sacramento and the surrounding areas of Folsom, El Dorado Hills and Cameron Park.

Personal Property: This coverage provides insurance for all personal property residing on your premises, or anywhere in the world subject to certain restrictions.  Coverage limits vary by policy, but most California home insurance policy’s provide standard coverage up to 75% of your dwelling policy.

Loss of Use: This coverage provides funds for additional living expenses incurred if your home becomes uninhabitable from a covered loss.  Loss of use expenses typically include additional costs incurred for food, travel and lodging until your home is brought back to a livable state.  The amount of coverage provided varies by policy, but most provide for expenses incurred up to your policy limits for a duration of 12-24 months, or as soon as your home becomes livable, whichever is sooner.

Personal Liability: Pays when you are legally liable for another person’s property damage  or bodily injury resulting from an accident, the acts of your pets, or negligent acts by you or a member of your household.

Medical: Pays for medical expenses incurred by individuals, other than household residents, injured at your residence regardless of fault or liability.
